Project Background
The Yellow River is known for high sediment content and large turbidity variation. For online water quality monitoring, the challenge is not only measuring turbidity, but also maintaining stable sensor data in water with suspended sediment and changing flow conditions.
In this type of project, the monitoring system needs to track sediment disturbance, organic pollution indicators, conductivity changes, pH and dissolved oxygen. These parameters help distinguish natural turbidity variation from possible pollution impact.
How YexSensor Solves It
YexSensor recommends turbidity as the core parameter, combined with COD, conductivity, pH and dissolved oxygen sensors. Turbidity data reflects sediment and suspended matter changes. COD supports organic pollution screening, conductivity helps identify water source or abnormal discharge changes, and pH/DO provide basic water quality and ecological condition data.
The sensor installation should consider flow impact, sediment deposition and floating objects. With RS485 Modbus RTU output, the data can be transmitted to the monitoring platform for continuous trend analysis.
