Products Description
YEX-S1-TS is an industrial online turbidity and temperature sensor using a 90° infrared scattered-light principle, with three selectable ranges (0–20 / 0–200 / 0–1000 NTU) covering drinking water, effluent and surface water alike. It reports turbidity and temperature over RS-485 Modbus RTU from a submersible IP68 probe for PLC and SCADA integration.
Where It Fits in the YexSensor Line
The YexSensor online water quality family is organized in three tiers: the S1 standard series (cost-effective probes in an IP68 engineering-plastic housing for high-volume monitoring points), the S1 PRO stainless-steel series (316L stainless-steel housings for seawater, high-chloride and oily duty), and the S2 flagship series (dual-interface RS485 + 4–20 mA connectivity for OEM and mixed analog/digital projects). If your duty is conventional municipal, industrial or agricultural water at scale, the S1 series is the economical choice; specify S1 PRO when corrosion resistance and higher accuracy are required.
Core Technical Highlights
Three selectable ranges: from polished drinking water (0–20 NTU) to raw river water and heavy effluent (0–1000 NTU).
Infrared 90° scattered light: the geometry specified by ISO 7027-style methods, minimizing color interference in yellow-ish water.
Built-in temperature channel: simultaneous temperature output on the same register map.
Digital RS-485 Modbus RTU: one twisted pair to PLC, RTU or datalogger with diagnostics.
IP68 submersible body: tanks, weirs, channels and open water; NPT 3/4 thread for flow cells.
Application Scenarios
- Drinking water treatment:
filter-effluent and clarified-water surveillance against break-through.
Wastewater discharge:suspended-solids surrogate trending at the outfall for compliance screening.
Surface water stations:sediment and run-off events tracking on rivers, lakes and reservoirs.
Aquaculture:pond water-clarity monitoring alongside DO and pH probes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which range should I order?
Match the range to your cleanest expected water: 0–20 NTU for treated drinking water and filter control, 0–200 NTU for general effluent, 0–1000 NTU for raw surface water and heavy solids. A range close to the working point preserves resolution.
Does color or algae affect the reading?
Infrared scattered-light sensors are far less color-sensitive than white-light designs, but dense algae and absorption still influence readings. Establish a site baseline and verify unusual events against your reference method.
What information should I provide for a quotation?
Provide the water matrix, expected turbidity span, installation method (immersion or flow cell), cable distance, power supply and Modbus integration requirements, plus quantity and destination country.
What quality assurance is provided?
Every unit passes a standardized inspection process and a 72-hour high-temperature aging test before shipment, and is backed by a one-year warranty from the date of sale. Standard delivery includes the sensor, a 5 m four-core shielded cable, an instruction manual and a certificate of conformity.
