Products Description

YEX-HY-RWLS-01 Radar Water Level Sensor

Non-contact radar level monitoring for rivers, reservoirs, channels and flood warning stations.

YexSensor YEX-HY-RWLS-01 is designed for continuous water level measurement where stable operation, low maintenance and easy data integration are required. The radar measurement method avoids direct contact with water, sediment and floating impurities, making it suitable for hydrology, water conservancy and remote monitoring projects.

Core Technical Advantages

  • Non-contact radar measurement reduces fouling, corrosion and mechanical wear in long-term outdoor service.

  • High-frequency radar sensing provides stable distance data under changing light, humidity and field conditions.

  • RS485 Modbus RTU output simplifies integration with PLC, RTU, telemetry terminals and SCADA systems.

  • Compact housing supports bridge, channel, reservoir and tank-side installation with minimal maintenance.

Application Scenarios

  • River and reservoir water level monitoring

  • Urban drainage and flood warning stations

  • Irrigation channels and open-channel projects

  • Water conservancy telemetry and remote data acquisition

  • Industrial tank or basin level monitoring

Installation and Wiring Guide

Install the sensor above the measured water surface and keep the radar beam free from bridges, walls, brackets or other reflective obstacles. The mounting point should be mechanically stable and aligned with the measurement surface.

Wiring note: Connect DC power and RS485 A/B according to the site cabinet terminal definition. Shielded twisted-pair cable is recommended for long-distance communication.

Maintenance and Commissioning Guide

Check bracket tightness, cable sealing and lens cleanliness during routine inspections. Reconfirm zero point or reference height after mechanical adjustment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Is this sensor in contact with water?

A1: No. It uses non-contact radar measurement, which helps reduce contamination, corrosion and maintenance.

Q2: Can it be connected to an RTU?

A2: Yes. RS485 Modbus RTU is suitable for RTU, PLC, data logger and SCADA integration.

Q3: What installation position is preferred?

A3: A stable overhead position with a clear path to the water surface is preferred.

Q4: Does sediment affect measurement?

A4: Sediment in water has little direct effect because the sensor measures from above the surface.

Q5: Can it be used for flood warning?

A5: Yes. It is suitable for river, drainage and reservoir level monitoring in warning systems.

Q6: What cable is recommended?

A6: Use shielded twisted-pair cable for RS485, especially in long-distance or high-interference sites.

Q7: Does it need frequent calibration?

A7: Routine calibration is usually limited to checking the installation reference height and communication data.

Q8: What causes unstable readings?

A8: Strong vibration, obstructions in the radar beam or incorrect mounting angle should be checked first.

Summary

YEX-HY-RWLS-01 gives integrators a practical non-contact level interface for hydrology automation projects, with stable radar sensing and standard Modbus communication for faster system deployment.
