Products Description
YEX-S1-RDO is an industrial online fluorescence (optical) dissolved oxygen sensor for continuous DO and temperature monitoring in aquaculture, aeration basins and environmental stations. With no membrane to service and no electrolyte to refill, it reports 0–20 mg/L over RS-485 Modbus RTU from a submersible IP68 probe — the lowest-maintenance way to put DO into your PLC or SCADA.
Where It Fits in the YexSensor Line
The YexSensor online water quality family is organized in three tiers: the S1 standard series (cost-effective probes in an IP68 engineering-plastic housing for high-volume monitoring points), the S1 PRO stainless-steel series (316L stainless-steel housings for seawater, high-chloride and oily duty), and the S2 flagship series (dual-interface RS485 + 4–20 mA connectivity for OEM and mixed analog/digital projects). If your duty is conventional municipal, industrial or agricultural water at scale, the S1 series is the economical choice; specify S1 PRO when corrosion resistance and higher accuracy are required.
Core Technical Highlights
Optical fluorescence method: no membranes, no electrolyte replacement and no zero calibration — dramatically lower maintenance than polarographic sensors.
0–20 mg/L span: covers every aquaculture, aeration and environmental application.
Built-in temperature channel: simultaneous temperature output supports compensation and logging.
Digital RS-485 Modbus RTU: daisy-chain DO, pH, EC probes on one bus to PLC or IoT gateway.
IP68 submersible body: ponds, basins, rivers; NPT 3/4 thread for pipes and flow cells.
Application Scenarios
- Aquaculture:
the survival-critical parameter — drive aerator interlocks and alarms from continuous DO data.
Wastewater aeration:trim blower output against the actual DO curve for measurable energy savings.
Rivers, lakes, reservoirs:long-life optical sensing for unattended environmental stations.
Process water:oxygen ingress checks in industrial loops.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often does the optical cap need service?
Typically an annual cap/luminescent-layer inspection, with no routine zero calibration. Actual interval depends on fouling — heavily loaded wastewater benefits from automatic wipers or regular brush cleaning.
Is optical DO as accurate as membrane sensors?
For process and environmental monitoring, optical sensing matches or exceeds membrane accuracy while removing the membrane-fouling failure mode. Verify against your reference method at commissioning and anchor the correlation.
What information should I provide for a quotation?
Provide the water matrix, expected DO span, installation method, cable distance, power supply and Modbus integration requirements, plus quantity and destination country.
What quality assurance is provided?
Every unit passes a standardized inspection process and a 72-hour high-temperature aging test before shipment, and is backed by a one-year warranty from the date of sale. Standard delivery includes the sensor, a 5 m four-core shielded cable, an instruction manual and a certificate of conformity.
