Products Description
YEX-S1-EC is an industrial online conductivity (EC/TDS) and temperature sensor for continuous salinity and water-quality surveillance. It reports conductivity, TDS and temperature over RS-485 Modbus RTU from a submersible IP68 probe, with four selectable measuring ranges from ultrapure water to brackish process streams.
Where It Fits in the YexSensor Line
The YexSensor online water quality family is organized in three tiers: the S1 standard series (cost-effective probes in an IP68 engineering-plastic housing for high-volume monitoring points), the S1 PRO stainless-steel series (316L stainless-steel housings for seawater, high-chloride and oily duty), and the S2 flagship series (dual-interface RS485 + 4–20 mA connectivity for OEM and mixed analog/digital projects). If your duty is conventional municipal, industrial or agricultural water at scale, the S1 series is the economical choice; specify S1 PRO when corrosion resistance and higher accuracy are required.
Core Technical Highlights
Four selectable ranges: 0–20, 0–200 µS/cm, 0–20 and 0–200 mS/cm — one product family from drinking water to high-salinity process streams.
Three values from one probe: conductivity, derived TDS and temperature stream together on a single Modbus register map.
Digital RS-485 Modbus RTU: daisy-chain dozens of probes on one bus to PLC, RTU or datalogger.
IP68 submersible body: tanks, channels, wells and open basins; NPT 3/4 thread for pipe insertion.
12–24 V DC: suits solar-powered remote stations.
Application Scenarios
- Drinking water and filtration:
track ionic load changes and blend-ratio control in distribution networks.
Irrigation and fertigation:guard root-zone salinity and verify nutrient-solution concentration.
Process water and cooling loops:detect concentration cycles, leaks and carryover early.
Surface water and groundwater stations:long-term ionic-load trends alongside pH and DO probes.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right measuring range?
Match the range to your normal water plus headroom: drinking water and rain-fed surface water fit the µS/cm ranges, while wastewater, brackish water and seawater-influenced streams need the mS/cm ranges. Ordering the range close to your working point preserves resolution.
Is TDS the same as conductivity?
No. TDS (mg/L) is derived from conductivity through a factor that depends on the ionic composition (commonly ~0.5–0.7). The probe outputs both values; verify the factor against your local lab method for reporting use.
What information should I provide for a quotation?
Provide the water matrix, expected conductivity span, temperature range, installation method, cable distance, power supply and Modbus integration requirements, plus quantity and destination country.
What quality assurance is provided?
Every unit passes a standardized inspection process and a 72-hour high-temperature aging test before shipment, and is backed by a one-year warranty from the date of sale. Standard delivery includes the sensor, a 5 m four-core shielded cable, an instruction manual and a certificate of conformity.
