Project Background
Reservoir monitoring points are often located away from the bank, where manual inspection and cable installation are inconvenient. In the Rizhao reservoir case, the monitoring target is to continuously observe water source condition and identify abnormal changes in ammonium nitrogen, pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and conductivity.
Compared with a riverbank station, an offshore reservoir point needs stable sensor operation, reliable data output and a configuration that can support unattended monitoring.
How YexSensor Solves It
The recommended sensor configuration focuses on essential reservoir indicators. Ammonium nitrogen is used to evaluate nitrogen pollution risk. pH and conductivity help identify basic water chemistry and water source changes. Dissolved oxygen reflects ecological condition, while turbidity shows sediment or suspended solids changes.
The sensors can be integrated into a buoy-based monitoring system and connected through RS485 Modbus RTU. This enables continuous data collection from an offshore point without frequent manual sampling.
