Project Background
The Yongding River Diversion Canal is an important urban water channel in Beijing, connected with multiple water bodies and management sections. For this type of canal, water quality control cannot rely only on occasional manual sampling. The operator needs continuous data to understand when turbidity rises, when dissolved oxygen drops, whether COD fluctuates abnormally, and whether conductivity shows sudden changes.
The site has relatively stable water flow, but the available installation space along the bank is limited. The monitoring equipment needs to be easy to maintain while staying protected from floating objects, flow disturbance and human activity. A fixed online monitoring point is therefore more suitable than temporary sampling.
How YexSensor Solves It
For an urban diversion canal, the recommended configuration focuses on core water quality indicators: COD, pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and conductivity. COD helps track organic pollution, pH and conductivity reflect basic water chemistry, dissolved oxygen indicates ecological condition, and turbidity shows sediment or suspended matter changes.
The sensors can be installed on a bank-side or side-wall mounting structure and connected through RS485 Modbus RTU to the existing data acquisition system. The management team can review real-time values and historical trends to move from problem discovery to early trend observation.
Recommended Product Configuration
| Product Image | Model / Product Link | Configuration Role |
|---|---|---|
![]() | YEX-S1-COD COD Online Sensor | Tracks organic pollution changes and supports early identification of external pollution input |
![]() | YEX-S1-PH Industrial Online pH Sensor | Monitors pH variation and basic water chemistry |
![]() | YEX-S1-RDO Optical Dissolved Oxygen Sensor | Evaluates dissolved oxygen status and river self-purification condition |
![]() | YEX-S1-ZS Online Turbidity Sensor | Observes sediment, suspended solids and flow disturbance |
![]() | YEX-S1-EC Online Conductivity Sensor | Helps identify water source changes or abnormal discharge impact |
This configuration is suitable for urban diversion canals, replenishment channels and landscape rivers where continuous online water quality monitoring is required.
