Project Background
Indonesia has large aquaculture areas for fish and shrimp farming. In pond aquaculture, water quality directly affects feeding efficiency, growth rate and survival rate. Dissolved oxygen, pH, ammonium nitrogen, turbidity and conductivity are common parameters that farmers need to monitor.
Manual testing can show the water condition at one moment, but pond water may change quickly during the night, after feeding or after rainfall. Continuous online monitoring helps the operator understand real-time risk.
Monitoring Challenge
Aquaculture ponds often face low dissolved oxygen at night, pH fluctuation, ammonia accumulation and turbidity changes caused by feeding and pond bottom disturbance. A practical monitoring system must be easy to install, stable in pond water and compatible with remote data collection.
YexSensor Recommended Solution
YexSensor recommends using dissolved oxygen, pH, ammonium nitrogen, conductivity and turbidity sensors for aquaculture pond monitoring. The sensors can be mounted at representative pond points and connected to a local controller or IoT gateway through RS485 Modbus RTU.
The data can help farmers adjust aeration, feeding and water exchange decisions based on real-time water quality trends.
