Products Description
YEX-S1-ORP is an industrial online oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) sensor for continuous redox monitoring in water treatment and disinfection processes. It reports ORP and temperature over RS-485 Modbus RTU from a submersible IP68 probe, giving PLC, RTU and SCADA systems a direct input for dechlorination control, denitrification supervision and dosing interlocks.
Where It Fits in the YexSensor Line
The YexSensor online water quality family is organized in three tiers: the S1 standard series (cost-effective probes in an IP68 engineering-plastic housing for high-volume monitoring points), the S1 PRO stainless-steel series (316L stainless-steel housings for seawater, high-chloride and oily duty), and the S2 flagship series (dual-interface RS485 + 4–20 mA connectivity for OEM and mixed analog/digital projects). If your duty is conventional municipal, industrial or agricultural water at scale, the S1 series is the economical choice; specify S1 PRO when corrosion resistance and higher accuracy are required.
Core Technical Highlights
±1500 mV full span: covers every practical water-treatment redox window, from chlorine disinfection to denitrification supervision.
Built-in temperature channel: automatic temperature compensation keeps readings comparable across seasons.
Digital RS-485 Modbus RTU: one twisted pair carries ORP and temperature to PLC, RTU, datalogger or IoT gateway with register-level diagnostics.
IP68 submersible body: continuous immersion in tanks, channels and basins; NPT 3/4 thread for pipe and flow-cell mounting.
12–24 V DC: compatible with solar-powered stations and standard control-cabinet supplies.
Application Scenarios
- Disinfection control:
monitor redox potential in chlorinated basins and dosing loops as an interlock input.
Denitrification supervision:track anoxic-zone redox trends to support nutrient-removal operation.
Cyanide/chromium treatment lines:verify complete reduction-oxidation stages in metal-finishing effluent before discharge.
Aquaculture and process water:general oxidation-condition surveillance alongside pH and DO probes on the same Modbus bus.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is ORP different from residual chlorine measurement?
ORP is a single millivolt reading that reflects the overall oxidizing/reducing tendency of the water; residual chlorine is a concentration measurement. ORP responds to all oxidizers at once, which makes it a fast process-guard, while ppm-level dosing control should be verified with a chlorine sensor or lab method.
Where should the probe be installed?
Choose a representative, continuously wetted and well-mixed point; avoid dead zones, direct chemical-injection impact and bubble entrainment. Keep the sensing tip fully immersed and do not mount the probe upside-down or horizontally.
What information should I provide for a quotation?
Provide the water matrix, expected ORP span, temperature range, installation method, cable distance, power supply and Modbus integration requirements, plus quantity and destination country.
What quality assurance is provided?
Every unit passes a standardized inspection process and a 72-hour high-temperature aging test before shipment, and is backed by a one-year warranty from the date of sale. Standard delivery includes the sensor, a 5 m four-core shielded cable, an instruction manual and a certificate of conformity.
