3. Water Quality Monitoring Applications

2025-03-26

Which sensors are recommended for river and lake monitoring?

For river and lake monitoring, common parameters include pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, conductivity and COD. In reservoirs and lakes where algae growth is a concern, chlorophyll and blue-green algae sensors can also be added. The final configuration should match the monitoring goal, such as pollution tracking, algae warning, drinking water source protection or ecological evaluation.

What sensors are suitable for aquaculture ponds?

Aquaculture ponds usually need dissolved oxygen, pH, ammonium nitrogen, conductivity and turbidity monitoring. Dissolved oxygen is especially important because low oxygen can directly affect fish or shrimp survival. Online sensor data helps operators adjust aeration, feeding and water exchange more quickly.

Can water quality sensors be used in wastewater projects?

Yes. Wastewater projects often use pH, ORP, dissolved oxygen, suspended solids, turbidity, COD and ammonium nitrogen sensors. These parameters help evaluate treatment process performance and discharge water quality. YexSensor can recommend different sensor combinations for inlet, aeration tank, sedimentation tank or outlet monitoring points.
