YEX-HY-DFM-01 Doppler Flow Meter
High-range Doppler flow monitoring for open channels, rivers and non-full pipe applications.
YexSensor YEX-HY-DFM-01 is a Doppler flow meter designed for water velocity, water level and flow monitoring in open-channel and non-full-pipe environments. It supports wide velocity measurement, IP68 protection and standard RS485 Modbus RTU output for engineering integration.
Core Technical Advantages
Wide velocity range supports field applications from low-flow channels to faster river sections.
Integrated velocity, level and temperature measurement helps reduce cabinet-side device complexity.
ABS housing and IP68 protection are suitable for submerged field monitoring conditions.
Configurable sampling interval and Modbus RTU output support remote automation and telemetry systems.
Application Scenarios
River and open-channel flow monitoring
Non-full-pipe flow measurement
Drainage and flood-control projects
Wastewater treatment channel monitoring
Hydrology and water resource telemetry stations

Installation and Wiring Guide
Install the sensor at least 20 cm below the minimum water level and keep suitable clearance from walls and the channel bottom. The probe should face upstream and be placed in a stable representative flow section.
Wiring note: Typical wiring: red DC positive, black DC negative, yellow RS485 A and blue RS485 B. Waterproof all cable joints before submerged operation.
Maintenance and Commissioning Guide
Check for sediment, biofilm, stones or debris near the probe. Reconfirm the mounting angle and channel cross-section parameters after flood events or civil work changes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What is the main difference from DFM-02?
A1: DFM-01 supports a wider velocity range and DC 10-30V power input, making it suitable for broader field projects.
Q2: Can it be used in non-full pipes?
A2: Yes. It is suitable for open-channel and non-full-pipe flow monitoring where the probe remains submerged.
Q3: What does the sensor measure?
A3: It measures velocity, water level and temperature data used for flow monitoring.
Q4: Is RS485 supported?
A4: Yes. RS485 Modbus RTU is provided for PLC, RTU and SCADA integration.
Q5: How deep should it be installed?
A5: The manual recommends keeping the sensor at least 20 cm below the minimum water level.
Q6: What affects measurement quality?
A6: Flow turbulence, incorrect orientation, sediment burial and insufficient submerged depth can affect results.
Q7: Is it suitable for wastewater?
A7: Yes, but routine cleaning is recommended in wastewater channels with sediment or attachments.
Q8: What should be checked during commissioning?
A8: Check power, Modbus address, baud rate, mounting direction, water depth and channel parameters.
Summary
YEX-HY-DFM-01 is built for integrators who need stable Doppler flow data, reliable IP68 submerged operation and straightforward Modbus integration in hydrology and water infrastructure projects.
