YEX-ORP-206 Online ORP Sensor Installation and Electrical Connection

Installation Requirements

YEX-ORP-206 adopts submersible installation design and can be directly screwed into pipelines, tanks or brackets using 3/4NPT pipe thread. Important notes: The sensor must not be installed upside down or horizontally during installation. It must be installed at an angle of at least 15 degrees or more to ensure normal seepage of reference solution and measurement accuracy. Vertical or near-vertical installation is recommended to avoid air bubble or dead zone interference.

Electrical Connection

The cable adopts 4-core twisted shielded wire, with the following wiring definitions:

  • Red wire: Power positive pole (12~24V DC)

Daily Use and Maintenance

Before use, clean the sensor in distilled water or deionized water and dry it with filter paper to prevent impurities from contaminating the measured solution. During measurement, 1/3 of the electrode should be immersed in the measured solution.

When the electrode is not in use, it should be cleaned and inserted into a protective sleeve containing 3mol/L potassium chloride solution, or stored in a container with 3mol/L KCl solution. Regularly check whether the wiring terminals are dry. If contaminated, wipe with absolute alcohol, blow dry and use.

Avoid long-term immersion of the electrode in distilled water or protein solutions, and prevent contact with organosilicon grease. For electrodes that have been used for a long time, they can be cleaned with dilute hydrochloric acid and then rinsed with water. If there is a large measurement error, calibration with the instrument is required. If it still cannot be calibrated normally after maintenance, it indicates that the electrode has failed and should be replaced in time.

ORP Standard Solution Preparation Method

  • 256mV solution: Weigh 2.1g quinhydrone and add it to 200mL pH 4.00 standard buffer solution, mix well.

After the value stabilizes, if the displayed value does not match the standard value, execute one-point calibration through Modbus command.
